Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to become a C.N.A. in the state of Florida?
In order to take the state exam, you must be 18 years of age OR have a high school diploma OR have a G.E.D.

Is a C.N.A. the same as a Home Health Aide?
In Florida there is not a separate certification or license for Home Health Aide. Some agencies do however require you to have certain educational classes which I include in the C.N.A. course.

Do you offer CPR certificaiton?
At this time I do not. I plan on offering this course in the future.

Will I get a certifcate after finishing the course?
I will give each student a certifcate of completion, this is not the same as the C.N.A. state certification. The state will issue that after you have passed the state exam.

If I do not pass the state exam, can I take it again?
Yes, you must wait one month to retest.

Do I have the pay the exam fees again?
You only have to pay for that portion of the exam you are retaking.

Do you take payments?
I ask for full payment on the first day of class. If this is a hardship, payment arrangements may be possible. Please speak to me about this.

If I miss a class can I make it up?
It is very difficult to make up an 8 hour day. If a true emergency prevents you from attending, i will try to assist you but can not take time away from your classmates.

Do you issue refunds if I miss class or do not pass the state exam?
No, all fees are non-refundable.

How long after the class has ended will I be able to take the state exam?
Scheduling for the exam varies but lately it has been taking about 3 weeks to recieve your testing date after receipt of your application and testing fees.

What are the state testing fees?
The written and clinical tests cost $93.00 plus a background check fee of $33.00. (this is slightly higher if you have not lived in Florida for 5 or more years).
